Yes. Thank you for this.
I have just begun submitting stuff. Each precious acceptance makes me want to sing from the rooftops. Each dreaded rejection makes me want to hide in a bush and lick my wounds. But I treasure those letters that are not 'form'. The ones that perhaps say... we enjoyed your writing, there was much to like in your poem, we found your story engaging and please do submit to us again, but...
Meanwhile, I cannot say that the research into what to submit where is not enjoyable. And if we aren't willing to read other's work, who do we expect to read ours?
Yes. Thank you for this.

I love this elegantly-worded piece, and especially the part about remembering to tell the other magazines when your work is accepted. As an editor of a literary magazine, it is always disappointing when I think I'm going to get to publish something and then find out it's already been accepted.

Of course, as a writer, I need to remember your advice to submit, submit, submit!
