I changed my blog's title for this reoasn, I didn't want family or certain friends to read it. However, my fear was that one of these people would read it, but not talk to me about it and just sort of stalk me in silence. I'm completely willing to share my poetry with people who are willing to have conversation about poetry! Unfortunately, I do not know many people in my family who will. There is definitely a different perception of writing poetry as compared to writing fiction. I write both and sometimes I do share my fiction with family, but I usually keep my poetry to my blog and friends who are writers. I've always got the impression that people around me think that writing a story or attempting to write a novel is more of an achievement than writing poetry .because poetry, of course, is just emotional venting Also, you have to take into consideration that many people still have the same attitude about poetry that they did when they were in high school reading Shakespeare .they don't understand it at first and never really give it a chance.
